User Experience Design- Week 11's UX Project Progress

Semester A:  Week 1- Week 11 Student:  Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 11's Class Task Class Tasks Screenshot of Coding Exercise This week, we coded with Josh about headings, tables, lists, paragraphs, and more. We followed along using the Notepad app on our laptops and tried the codes ourselves. Previously, I did a fair bit of HTML & CSS at my previous university hence, this class was more of a refresher for me but I've gained new knowledge from it as well.

User Experience Design- Week 9's Class Task

Semester A:  Week 1- Week 11 Student:  Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 9's Class Task Project Progress This week, we continued with our project. The feedback I got from Dean was that the navigation bar should be at the bottom of the app bcos people use their thumbs when using their phones. That way, it is more convenient for users to assess the buttons.  Figma Tutorial In class, I tried animating the buttons following the tutorial above so that they could be collapsible on the side.  First Attempt Second Attempt Unfortunately, it did not work in the way I wanted it to because the hamburger button moved to the bottom of the screen where it was not visible when in reality, it should be fixed ...

User Experience Design- Week 7's Class Task

Semester A:  Week 1- Week 11 Student:  Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 7's Class Task Project Progress This week, I saved a few of my favorite references on various app features that had good designs. Information Architecture/ SiteMap I was having trouble visualizing how I should organize the different sections of my app and I did not want to waste time sketching on paper. Instead, I opened up Miro and created a detailed sitemap that includes even the sub-sections of the app. This helped me keep my app structurally organized and would save me a lot of headaches and confusion in the later stages of prototyping.  User Flow/User Scenario Based on the user persona, Cassandra, I also created a user flow where she schedules an appointment to meet the dog.  Based on the user persona, Maximus, I created a user flow where he filters for his preferred dog breed.  Creating a Low Fidelity P...

User Experience Design- Week 5's Class Task

Semester A:   Week 1- Week 11 Student:   Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 5's Class Task Class Tasks This week, Dean gave us a lecture on the branding guidelines that we have to create for our app.  Reference for Branding Guideline Week 5's Progress of App Assignment This is a moodboard that contains a logo that uses Gestalt's Principle of Closure where the human eye perceives an image as complete even when certain elements are missing. I thought this concept was rather interesting and it fits the criteria of a good logo because it is simple yet effective and impactful.  Collecting References Reference Images for Logo After deciding on the rough ...

User Experience Design- Week 6's Class Task

Semester A:  Week 1- Week 11 Student:  Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 6's Class Task Project Progress Dean’s Feedback Right off the bat, the eyes make the dog look rather sad and miserable. For the logo, make the eyes of the dog bigger and add a reflective highlight to make the eyes look pitiful rather than miserable. 1st Attempt The first attempt: This version of the eyes is too complicated. Instead, use the negative space to create the reflective highlight, which makes the design much simpler. 2nd Attempt The second attempt: Dean said it was much better. In terms of the overall branding guidelines, Dean approves.   Peer’s Feedback Try to make the pink more vibrant because when the app icon is against a colorful background, such as an image, it does not make it stand out. One of my peers agreed that between the eyes with and without the negative space highlight, the one with the cut-out hole is...

User Experience Design- Week 4's Class Task

Semester A:  Week 1- Week 11 Student:  Tai Ser Yeet (22064351) Programme:  BA(Hons) Digital Media Design Task:  Week 4's Class Task Class Tasks This week, we received feedback from Dean regarding our project. One of my peers, Neha brought up the issue of legislative works when it comes to adoption and it got me thinking about the necessity of it so I asked Dean about it. He suggested that I create a drop-down menu for it and either attach an empty body paragraph (lorem ipsum) or copy the terms & conditions from an existing animal shelter website. The name of my mobile application can't be the same as other apps in the market hence, it was definitely a struggle to find a name that was catchy and has not been used before. The presentation slides should be brief and text-heavy therefore sections such as the user personas are advised to be around 4 bullet points or less. Followed Up Task...
