WEEK 14 (Pt.2)
Feedback from Online Tutorial With Steve
- You need to use a software called Mosaic to display your work on 4 screens
- Laptop needs to run on an SSD instead of a hard drive for faster graphics processing power
- Need a USB hub to connect 4 Kinects and make sure it is fast enough, e.g. 3.1 and 3.2
- Idea 1- The concern of the audience not having anything to interact with can be alleviated by making a small part of the work interactive, as opposed to the whole thing
- Sample layout I created- reevaluate the distance between the screen and the projector
- You will only get a small image with the projector very close to the screen unless you get an ultra-short-throw one
- Good to know how standard projectors work
- Look into getting a net curtain for the rear projection setup
- 3 sections of work to write in the proposal - dance element (live performance), video of the dance and participatory element of the audience
- Write that the work is evolving rather than having a fixed mindset of what you are going to do
- Write about the discovery of merging an artefact into an immersive and performative environment
- as I gain more knowledge on...
- Risk assessment and health and safety are the same thing
- ethics and rights- low ethical risk because you are the only one dancing in your project
- As for user testing, they only need to sign a release form, but that is done at a later date, and you can submit that with assignment 3
- Steve might talk to Phil to move one of the i9 computers to A238
- Finish building the installation by the 6th of May, so work has to be done a week before that
Tmr
- ask Steve about headings, very long and doesn't look nice
