WEEK 40 (Part 2)

Adding Sound Effects
I chose a light-hearted, cartoonish theme song and downloaded that from YouTube. After that, I imported the music into Adobe Premiere Pro, selected the parts I wanted to use from the theme song and mashed them together. In terms of the little sound effects that the character or the environment produces, I would get that from this website called freesound.org. Unpopular opinion but this is my favorite part of the whole project!

I added volume keyframes at the start and end of the audio clip to create a smooth and seamless fade-in and fade-out transition. I also included soft environmental noise which consists of birds chirping, leaves shaking and more to eliminate the silence when there is no movement present within the scene even when the story is still continuing. In other words, I layered the audio clips on top of each other to provide a more realistic and immersive feel for my viewers.

I attached a pitch shifter effect onto an audio clip so that I can make the pitch of the small bird's voice higher. After dragging that onto the clip itself, I increased the transpose function until I was satisfied with the outcome.

Exporting Clips from Premiere Pro
I split the whole video into 8 individual clips and exported all of them from Premiere Pro.

Making Interactive Buttons in Figma
I needed to make working buttons in Figma so the players could choose their preferred option. In Illustrator, I positioned the vector shape over the top of a screenshot so that the transition from a video to the Figma frame is smooth. This part was very time-consuming because everything from the red frames to the text had to be accurately aligned to the image underneath.

I added some guides to speed up the process.

Creating Prototypes
After splitting the video and creating the buttons, I imported everything into Figma. I linked each frame according to the flow of the story and did a few run-throughs before submitting my work. Although it would be nice to add a pause and play button, I did not have extra time so I decided against it.
