WEEK 27

Research on Idea

Because I did not feel like drawing, I decided to tell a story using basic elements such as simple shapes and incorporate design principles which include proximity, unity, contrast, etc.

Bauhaus Animation

I like the animation style in this video where they use basic shapes to tell a story - it is simple yet conveys the message very well.

Geometric Animation

This human is trying to grip onto a chair that is tied to a rope. This piece of work inspired me to turn an intangible into a physical object. For example, grief does not go away, it stays with you and you just learn how to deal with it. So grief is an intangible thing and you can make it into a feather that experiences grief.

"Anxiety" - Stopmotion Made By Therese

The way the creator animates the characters so clearly by playing with the speed, and movement is very fascinating. The animation uses the traditional charcoal and paper which is seen as a very simple medium but the message itself is powerful. This goes to show that you do not need expensive equipment to create high-quality outcomes.

[BIPOLAR] 2D Animated short film

This is a 2D animated short film. The film starts off with an object which in this case is a fan and then it continues to show the dancer doing a pole dance.

The way the creator animates the characters so clearly by playing with the speed, and movement is very fascinating.

  • The idea can be executed as long as the interactive film game has a beginning, middle, and end. 
  • The duration of the project does not really matter. 
  • Another name for 2D animation is called flat animation
  • The interactive element of the film game can just be a play and pause button.
