Individual Evaluation
1. Ben
Ben was initially responsible for creating the 3D assets such as the hay, barn house, fences, Welcome Sign, and more. However after Neha did not complete the UI Design a few days before the submission deadline, he stepped up and finished it during class with Josh. Some of his 3D assets were not imported into the game's landscape hence, it would be as though he did very little but that was not the case. Overall, I am satisfied with the high-quality work he produced for our game and look forward to collaborating with him again.
2. Ser Yeet (My role)
My initial responsibilities were to complete the Character Movement in the game and work on one minigame myself and the other with Neha. However, plans changed due to unforeseen circumstances and I took on the task of animating the characters, creating the character movement, two minigames as well as the UI.
I would say that I worked very hard on this project considering that I had never used the Unreal Engine before and had to learn from the ground up. I did not receive the amount of help I hoped for from Neha but in the end, I took over her responsibility to ensure that the project's progress did not get delayed any further and made sure that we would produce a good outcome. From this project, I have learned to thoroughly delegate tasks to the team so that it would be easier to visualize a timeline for our progress.
3. Janet
Janet's responsibilities was to create the character design for the characters, animals, puzzle images, and game backgrounds. She later helped me with the fishing game's blueprint by searching for appropriate tutorials for the minigame and going back and forth with Josh via email to get his guidance. Not only that, she solved the majority of the issues during our first game export and actively cleared any doubts that I had during the project which I truly appreciate. I am also very content with the work she produced as it was beyond expectations.
4. Neha
Neha's initial responsibilities were to create the character animation and work on the Hen MiniGame together with me. Unfortunately, she did not fulfill her tasks within the given time frame because of certain reasons. Later, she only contributed to creating the landscape and importing Ben's assets into the game. Sadly, I am not truly satisfied with her work as some of Ben's assets were not imported correctly or they were missing. A week before submission, she promised to complete the UI design but failed to do so Ben and I immediately picked up after her. Not only that, she forgot to upload the source file for our submission on Canvas even after clarifying multiple times with Josh during class. I only hope that she can change in the future and be more dutiful.
5. Mosad
Mosad's initial responsibilities were to create the landscape design and some 3D assets for the game. Unfortunately, his landscape could not be exported into Unreal Engine as they were only imported as individual tiles. I wasn't happy that even after Josh failed to salvage the work, Mosad did not try to redeem himself by creating another landscape so eventually, Neha had to take over instead. Later, he promised to develop the 3D assets such as the trees and grass but again, his assets could not be imported into the Unreal file. The only visible contribution that he made was presenting our game in front of the class. Overall, I am saddened by his poor quality of work and work ethic. I can only wish him the best for future collaborations with others and hope he improves his teamwork skills.
